Beth Kollé performs and presents workshops on harp, flute and pennywhistle, and sings in Norwegian, Swedish and Gaelic. She also teaches Scandinavian folkdance and song at festivals and retreats around the United States. Recently she traveled to Norway to perform and promote harp-playing along with the HARPA 06 tour group. She has been featured at Wells, BC Celtic Harp Week, HarpCon05 in Big Sky, Montana, HarpCon03 in Bloomington, Indiana, at Somerset Folkharp Festival in New Jersey, and Southeastern Folkharp Weekend in Asheville SC.
Immersed in both the Scandinavian and Gaelic communities in Seattle, Beth performs solo and with the groups Crookshank and Greensleeves. Beth brings a fresh perspective to the ageless traditional music of Scandinavia, Ireland and Scotland.

HARPA
A new book is almost ready to be published: The Harpa Tunebook! Watch this space for the announcement.
In July of 2006, a group of North American folk harpers set out on a journey of discovery to Scandinavia. What a grand adventure it turned out to be!
A second tour set out on May 24th. Once again we traveled on the Big Bus, playing our harps all the way, this time touring the beautiful fjords of Norway's west coast.
The tours were the inspiration for new arrangements and original tunes, which will be featured in the upcoming book - along with recipes and knitting patterns!
Click on HARPA to see pictures from both tours. |
